Everything went well with Dave's procedure. He was very nauseous and in a lot of pain, but every day he does better. They were able to get about 64% of the Sir-Spheres in his liver. They said that is good. He is radioactive right now so we have to keep our distance from him, which is so difficult, especially for the kids because they don't understand, but we only have another week of worrying about that. He will go back for a follow-up with his oncologist on the 24th, then two weeks after that he will have a scan and be mapped again. They will radiate the left lobe of his liver a week after the mapping.
I feel so comforted and confident that Dave is going to beat this. Our bishop and home teacher came over the night before his surgery and gave him a blessing. In it our bishop said that we were meant to be here, in this ward, in this home, and that with our faith Dave's body will be free of cancer. As he was leaving he said, "you will be fine, you are going to beat this." My good friend Nate, also gave Dave a blessing when we first moved here and he said the same thing. He said that Heavenly Father told him Dave would be OK and he has no doubts.
We absolutely love it here in Arizona and it already feels like home. Everyone here, our neighbors, our ward, are so amazing, down to earth, and friendly. We know we are supposed to be here and that everything will work out. Thanks again for all your support and prayers!
I love that blog and I have faith also that everything will be ok.
